Reflection at Sunset

The main idea behind this work is that the reflection could create a new reality in the eye of the observer.
The world thus revised (where inside and outside are blurred) is not anymore a mere figurative representation of sensitive reality, but on the opposite, it unveils the hidden essence behind the phenomenon.
The reflection also sought to investigate the psychological sensorial experience. The world around us is characterized by a paroxysmal traffic jam of images.
The impact with the reflection generates both anguish and physical disorientation: you are projected in a deformed and ambiguous space, where the reflection overturns the geometry of inside and outside, drawing a new reality.
The pictorial rendering is mostly achieved with very diluted oil paint and by uneven backgrounds. This choice is dictated by the need to transform the graphic mark into a pictorial sign and the figurative reference into a new reading of reality that I like to call Visionary Realism.
