Inner traffic

Social Masks is a series of paintings on discarded luxury packaging collected in Barcelona. I return to these surfaces because they already carry a language of desire, aspiration, recognition and belonging. The portraits are fractured, edited and partially obscured, as if something in them is still being negotiated. I am not interested in the mask as a disguise, but in the moment when it becomes difficult to tell where adaptation ends and the self begins. How much of a person is shaped by what they long for, what they are seen through and what they learn to perform in order to be accepted? Social Masks is an evolving body of work rooted in that unstable space, where inner truth and social image do not cancel one another, but remain in constant tension.
