ARRHYTHMIA
I created my Self-Portrait using the plastic forms of archaic African art. In my interpretation, the multi-eyed mask symbolizes the ability not only to contemplate the chaos of the external world but also to see through it — to see how my internal time ceases to align with the rhythm of reality.
This disruption of the familiar flow of life causes a rupture within me between the PAST and the FUTURE; I feel that my old "Self" has already been destroyed, while the new "Self" has not yet emerged.
A pause ensues...
The old rhythm has stopped...
The new heartbeat has not begun...
My SIX EYES - are all that is left. They look into the void of suspended time, into an absolute and terrifying silence...
