Synchronicity is a visual installation rooted in painting. The materials used include oil on wood, PVC, hinges, and a movement mechanism controlled by an Arduino.
The work explores time and synchronicity. A moment is our point of connection to the infinite, to the eternal. It depicts a butterfly with its wings closed. Once every hour, the mechanism concealed at the back of the piece activates, causing the wings to open and allowing the viewer to experience the work in its entirety for only one minute. The wings then close again.
The work moves and transforms, inviting us to remain attentive to the power of the moment and to the connections that, while seemingly random, may in fact conceal a meaningful temporal coincidence.
