crime and ecstacy

As an artist, I have always been fascinated by the impact of deep, emotional expression. Through this piece, I wanted to explore the dramatic composition of facial features upon someone who has experienced an intense crime of passion. As the title suggests, the woman in this painting has committed a crime which has induced feelings of both desperation but also ecstatic release. While not everyone may be able to relate directly, my hope is that this piece is able to strike the viewer, stirring feelings from deep within.
