In this work, heat is not merely suggested , it is felt. Against a backdrop of ochre and intense yellow, the canvas cracks and splits, like parched earth beneath a relentless summer sun. The fractures running through it are no accident: they are the very narrative of the painting, the memory of a burn.
The technique combines printmaking and crumpling, creating a living surface where matter rises, breathes and vibrates. The resulting relief catches the light differently depending on the angle, giving the canvas an almost physical presence.
Yellow, ochre, orange, red , the entire palette radiates and consumes. Jour de chaleur is a committed work, speaking of cracking earth, of life resisting, of the fragile beauty of a world under strain.
