Oh, Crap!

This painting brings a small moment of disappointment and humour into focus. The artist intended to paint a seagull resting on the railing, but the bird had other plans and flew away before the moment could be captured. What remains is only a fragment of the bird, an empty railing, and the trace it left behind.
The work plays with frustration, timing, and irony. Here, absence is treated not as tragedy, but as a moment of quiet comedy. The title echoes the artist’s immediate reaction, “Oh, crap!”, while also referring, quite literally, to the stuff visible on the railing.
