Motherhood captures a fragment of everyday life, suspended between exhaustion and the chaos of a new day. It is a self-portrait, where the tired, almost fading face merges with the surrounding space. These are not just objects, but traces of family life: toys, cups, crumbs, clothes left on chairs.
Spiderman appears beside me — a silent symbol of my children’s passion during those years — a small hero accompanying me as I try to emerge from the multitude, or perhaps sink into it.
This oil painting was created during an intense period of my life, when my children were very young and my daily existence blended completely with them and with the life of the house. I also incorporated a fragment of fabric from one of my grandmother’s garments, honouring a woman who deeply shaped me, especially when I became a mother.
