Second mother

This painting began with a few old family photographs. I brought together two women who were both part of my childhood and painted them again in the same space. Some things changed while I was working, some faces faded, and others stayed.
For me, this painting is less about telling a story than about the way certain people continue living beside us, even after they are gone.
