The obsessed person feels an irresistible desire to free himself from his fixed idea, but often at the same time he also feels a split - an attraction to suffering. This is exactly what prevents him. Because obsession is a state of irresistible attachment to external aggression, which caused it and has penetrated deep into his soul. In the image there is deformation and physical suffering of the body from the aggression, but also a masochistic state of mind, as a result of obsession. The painting is a symbolic depiction of the contradiction that simultaneously arises during obsession: suffering and hedonistic intoxication.
