Born in Fire

This is part of a series that is inspired by nature and follows organic forms and materials. Wood is, potentially, the first material that humanity used for art purposes. Fire is another “material” that allowed humanity to move forward. In this work the wood is burned (following the Japanese preservation technique Yakisugi). This is one of the three proposed work that all combine wood (as the base material) in interaction with three other “materials” that played a major role in human history: bone, fire and gold.
