My work bridges the raw energy of modern expressive abstraction with the deliberate, transformative nature of alchemy. By treating materials like paper and color as elemental substances, I engage in a process of metaphorical transmutation. Using the immediacy of spray can paint alongside traditional collage, I build surfaces that undergo a series of layered "reactions." This approach allows me to explore how physical materials can be broken down and reconstructed, mirroring the alchemical pursuit of refining base matter into something imbued with new, symbolic meaning.
