After the Revival
After the Revival explores the state that emerges after a period of internal disruption - when collapse gives way to reconstruction and a new sense of balance begins to form. Rather than depicting a resolved outcome, the work focuses on the transitional space between fracture and renewal.
Created in mixed media with volcanic lava sand, acrylic, and textured surfaces, the piece draws on natural processes as a metaphor for psychological transformation. Volcanic material carries traces of eruption, pressure, and geological change, embodying both destruction and regeneration. Through layering, accumulation, and surface variation, the work reflects the way personal growth often develops through disruption rather than stability.
The painting is part of an ongoing investigation into transformation, resilience, and the relationship between natural forces and human experience. It considers how periods of upheaval can become conditions for renewal, allowing new structures, meanings, and forms of wholeness to emerge.
