Mystical Night reflects on the tension between one’s true nature and the roles we adopt in order to move through the world.
At the center of the painting stands a winged feline-human figure illuminated by a descending light. Around her unfolds a nocturnal realm inhabited by luminous and shadow-like creatures. Some are drawn toward the light, while others remain hidden within the darkness of the forest. The central figure wears the face of a predator, a symbolic mask shaped by the world around her. It is not her true nature, but a form of protection — a way to survive, to avoid vulnerability, and to belong within a reality often governed by fear and appearances. Beneath this mask, however, lives a different world. The winged cats emerging from the light embody innocence, compassion, imagination and hope. As the light spreads through the darkness, transformation becomes possible. What appears threatening can reveal unexpected gentleness; what seems lost can still find its way toward illumination.
Rather than depicting a conflict between good and evil, the painting explores the human capacity for change. It reflects the quiet journey of returning to one’s authentic self and discovering that light has the power not only to reveal truth, but also to transform what was once hidden in shadow.
