Acrylic on unstretched, grommeted canvas. This is a protest art painting done with a "punk" esthetic. It can hang on a wall in a gallery, it can be easily rolled up and used as a protest banner anywhere. It is intentionally "unfinished" very much like the resistance to MAGA that it represents. We are being silenced by our crimimal government. They want to censor any culture that represents them as they are. Tyrants. This has extended to every level of U.S. society. Even my family had been split apart due to some of my very own family members trying to censor my artwork. This is part of an ongoing, ever growing protest art movement that my studio has become in recent months. The front of my house and studio is a protest art installation. This is one piece from that work. It features a rendering of a bronze statue of General Nicholas Herkimer who perished while fighting in the U.S. revolution. This bronze is in the center of my hometown which is named after him. It is a reminder that the U.S. was founded on an ideal which we must continue to fight for against the forces of tyranny. Not become them as our current administration has clearly attempted.
