The Timisoara Table

"The Timișoara Table" expands my conceptual framework surrounding culinary culture into an international dialogue, focusing on the hybrid gastronomic memory of the Banat region in Romania. Executed on a delicate paper surface, this artwork investigates the traditional culinary identity of Timișoara through a highly refined and structured visual vocabulary. The composition captures the sensory essence of local heritage, translating the vivid yellow of mămăligă and the contrasting, warm tones of traditional dishes like sarmale and papricaș into cross-sensory geometric forms. Rather than a conventional culinary depiction, the piece functions as a psychological map of taste and cultural intersection. By blending regional European flavors with a contemporary linear discipline, the work explores how multicultural memory, geography, and synesthetic perception are preserved and re-interpreted on a minimalist scale.
