Release – step-by-step

The work exhibits seven pieces representing the theme /concept Release: step-by-step and addresses the notion of identity, body and mind. The endless need for the mind and body to control every aspect of our present-day life and often a lack of ability for humans to create a space of "nothingness" in our everyday life. Nothingness is a state of being more present in our lives - detaching ourselves from our identity and not always wanting to control everything. The small pieces are photo polymer works and taken/extracted from the larger acrylic painting. These six pieces represent a more close, detailed study of the theme. Where as the large piece invites the viewer to study the theme on a larger scale. The organic, nebulas geometric forms strive to give the viewer a sense of balance of proportions, shape and space hence depicting the need for balance of identity, mind and life. A combination of these different techniques and mediums strengths the theme by engaging the viewer to study the works from different perspectives.

6 Small graphic works (right) : Graphic work, 240 gram paper, 25cm x 25 cm. Graphic work (combining acrylic painting with photopolymer printmaking creating a dynamic mixed-media hybrid that combines expressive, spontaneous brushwork with reproducible graphic techniques).
