In this work the depiction of the souls of the dead is symbolic, with the red birds functioning as carriers of memory, mourning, transition.
They are used as a metaphor for the souls of people who were lost violently in accidents, were murdered or commited suicide etc and hover
between words. To these souls is the work dedicated. The choice of the red color reinforces this particular approach because it's the color of blood, loss, life and magic. Birds are symbols of spirit and transcendence while their flight symbolizes the liberation of the soul from matter and the material body after death. Red birds in particular are associated with the presence of loved ones who have "gone". This painting is not simply aesthetic. It's a form of storytelling, a way to express existential questions, memories etc. The colors, the light, the shadow, the birds, the figures function as symbols, as whispers from other words.
