Tempest (diptych)

Tempest is a diptych shaped by pressure, movement and release. Across the two panels, the painting shifts from dense, internalised accumulation to more expansive and directional gestures, as if something held beneath the surface begins to break through.
Built through layers of oil and cold wax, the work carries traces of its own history, where earlier marks persist and interact with later interventions. The surface becomes a site of tension and transformation, holding moments of instability alongside areas of resolution. Rather than depicting an event, Tempest embodies a state in flux, where energy moves through the painting and remains suspended within it.
