My concept takes the form of a diptych. On the left, a realistic interpretation of landscape almost as if framed. A woman stands before it, gazing into the landscape, uncertain whether to step inside.
The second part is entirely abstract as though reality itself were fragmented. The colors are offering a different way of seeing the same place. Here, the woman has already entered and merged with the surrounding environment.
Our perception of reality is limited by the senses, while reality itself is far more complex. One of the central challenges of this work is to shift perspective—to try to see and experience the same reality through different optics. The paintings can be read on a personal, symbolic level, as well as more broadly, as a reflection on the relationship between humanity and and the environment.

I find inspiration to this work in a photo of
talented Norwegian photographer Sveinung Wiig Andersen, @sveinung_landscapephoto , with his permission.
