In this project, Zhixuan Jiang transforms light from a purely visual element into a structural component. Light exists not merely to illuminate, but as a subconscious guiding mechanism that restructures space and produces a temporarily habitable state. Within these images, space remains perpetually unstable, defined by blurred boundaries and obscured surfaces. These sites resemble a psychological topography rather than a concrete reality. Light does not interpret space; it intervenes to "carve out" structure, rendering inaccessible voids momentarily habitable. Consequently, the temporary shelter depicted is not a natural occurrence but the result of constant transformation. It depends entirely on light’s presence and is characterized by extreme transience. The moment light shifts, the spatial logic dissolves, and the sense of security collapses.
