Optical Cartography

Freehand painted stripes of Woad and Ochre alternate down the entire length of the painting. Each stripe is made up of four brushstrokes. The pattern of the brushstrokes makes up a grid like structure. Abstract patterns are as old as humanity itself and communicate directly something of what it means to be human.
