The painting “Strangers” was created during a difficult period of burnout and personal reflection. It depicts a moment when unfamiliar people come together - like in public transport - serving as a metaphor for everyday encounters. Many people enter my life: some briefly, others for longer. Who are they? Do I truly know them? How deeply do we open up to one another, and where is my place among them?
We reflect each other, yet remain different. We are drawn together while trying to preserve our individuality.
The figure wrapped in colorful bandages symbolizes a creative person. Beneath them lies an exposed nerve - pain and sensitivity. Bright and distinct, this figure stands out, yet remains misunderstood, concealing its inner world.
The work reflects Metamodernism, a key element of my artistic practice.
