The obelisk of km 0 of the Carlo Felice State Road stands in Piazza Yenne, in the historic district of Stampace. It marks the ideal origin of a road that opens from Cagliari towards the rest of the island, like a geometric measure capable of ordering distances, directions and connections. And yet, in everyday perception, this role almost dissolves: the monument is absorbed by the trees, by passers-by, by improvised pauses and by the ordinary uses of the square. It is a secluded point zero, an origin that the city crosses without almost noticing.
