Part of my Treasures series, Echoes in Marble explores the fragile balance between permanence and transformation. A Grevy’s zebra leaps from the regal spiral staircase of Villa Farnese, suspended between instinct and intention, while sculpted warriors in a chariot from Palazzo Caserta echo the grandeur and conflict of the classical era. Below, a man lies in quiet agony as a real butterfly rests upon his hand, a delicate symbol of grace amidst struggle. To the right, a marble figure reminiscent of Atlas watches in silence, his stone form slowly surrendering to the passage of time.
Composed from photographs captured across Italy, Austria, and the Netherlands, the piece combines over 500 photographic layers, hand-painted details, and digital brushwork created using a Wacom Cintiq Pro tablet, inspired by the classical and atmosphere of traditional painting.
