Deep Ecology serves as a visual nexus for practice-based research into Interconnectedness and Entanglement. Drawing upon a multidisciplinary framework spanning Darwin’s Descent with Modification, Hawking’s A Brief History of Time, and Timothy Morton’s Deep Ecology, the piece functions as a counter-factual biological history interrogating the scale of Deep Time.

Through a methodology of "making-with" primordial elements from the Periodic Table, the work collapses hierarchies between the celestial and terrestrial. The landscape and creatures interrogate the arbitrary nature of the phylogenetic tree, suggesting that current forms are but one latent possibility in an infinite web of speculative kin. Deep Ecology invites a reconciliation with the interconnectedness of existence: a reminder that we are stellar remnants navigating an infinite universe.
