Work from the CN (Caralis Noir), a Mediterranean noir in which the city is not a simple view, but a presence that captures the gaze.
The bell tower of the Church of San Giacomo imposes itself through the way it emerges between the streets and the surrounding buildings. The square almost disappears: it is the buildings on either side that frame the scene, compressing the space and strengthening the vertical force of the tower. The lights of the night cut across the surfaces, isolate the outlines and turn the bell tower into a sudden presence, larger than the space that seems to contain it.
