Piazza San Domenico is observed from the window of one of its cafés, not from the centre of the urban space, but from a threshold. This viewpoint transforms the scene: the square does not reveal itself in its entirety, but emerges through an interior, like a fragment discreetly glimpsed. The window frame becomes a natural border for the gaze, gathering the evening light, the café tables and the quiet rhythm of Villanova.
At the centre of the composition, the tree becomes the scene’s silent point of reference. It does not dominate through grandeur, but because it remains while life in the square continually changes. People linger, converse and cross the space without disturbing its balance. From this secluded place, almost a detail woven into the fabric of the city, a view opens up that conveys not the entire square, but the character of a single moment.
