A Seeking Root
This felted wool piece portrays a root moving through soil in search of nourishment. Its tactile, organic surface evokes the hidden world beneath our feet — a space of movement, communication, and transformation. The root appears both vulnerable and purposeful, navigating an underground landscape shaped by cooperation. Through this work, I explore nature as an intelligent system, where roots actively seek balance, connection, and resources. The piece is part of my broader artistic research into nature and trees as complex, resilient organisms.
