A Time for Every Activity

Rooted in the cyclical reflections of Ecclesiastes, this installation pairs a finished, structured, cylindrical teapot, anchored by a sweeping overhead handle, with a small offering of raw clay sand resting beside it. Positioned on a fractured stone base, the fine silt serves as a marker of beginnings and endings. Evoking both the unformed earth from which the vessel emerged and the ashes to which all things return. By anchoring the high-fire glaze against the dust, the composition creates a contemplative space that reminds the viewer of the steady, unhurried passage of time.
