After the rains
Oil on wood - opening Triptych 105cm x 105cm

This triptych explores the relationship between the man-made world and nature. The exterior image shows a landscape of Chianciano-Terme, shaped and conditioned by human presence — fields divided, towns expanding, and nature reduced quietly into the background, all in a familiar harmony . While calm and centuries old, the outside scene carries a sense of vacant nature and imbalance in this new world.
When the doors open, the same landscape is transformed, offering a different possibility. Light breaks through after the rain and wildlife returns across the valley. Roe deer, foxes, wild boar, hares, owls, kestrels, move freely through the land. The scene imagines what could be, if nature and man find the balance to recover and coexist beside each other.
Using the traditional structure of the triptych, the work turns the act of opening into a moment of revelation. Instead of revealing a religious scene, it reveals an environmental one — a vision of renewal, balance and hope. The piece asks the viewer to consider not only what has been lost, but what still remains and could still return.
