"Back Story" is a glimpse into my personal history. These are the roads, trails and landscapes I have traveled on and through.
In Maori toi (art) black is not for dread but rather potential. Red is associated with the Earth Mother, Papatuanuku, and also connected to the Koru, a symbol of growth, harmony and new beginnings. A new day often has red sky about the glowing sun. White is symbolic of purity, peace, and spiritual light. Blue also represents the spiritual realm, sky, and sea. These can be turbulent or calm, deep or shallow and I think everyone's backstory has elements of all these things.
