The painting is another stage in the exploration of surface, decay and the physicality of the body. The form exists on the border between presence and absence — more as a state, a trace or a condition of matter than as a classically depicted figure. The body becomes a place of tension: between skin and wound, image and disappearance, living tissue and its dissolution.
