Cards Castle is a pure encaustic painting on OSB panel. The work reflects on instability, power and the fragility of political structures through the image of a house of cards built from traditional Hungarian playing cards and set in front of the Hungarian Parliament Building. The tilted composition intensifies the sense of imbalance, while the layered wax surface and the raw texture of the OSB panel reinforce the tension between monumentality and collapse. By confronting an iconic seat of power with a precarious, temporary structure, the painting evokes the vulnerability of systems that may appear solid yet remain fundamentally unstable.
