Having trained in Balintawak since the age of five, Naomi creates work that serves as a deeply personal exploration of a martial philosophy where the stick and blade function as instinctive extensions of the body. The sharp, elongated lines striking across the crest of each vessel replicate the reach of those implements, cutting into the surrounding space. Below this directional energy, the raw, unadorned clay weights the base as a physical nod to root oneself and search for balance. Coated in a skin of wood-fired ash and crystallization, the finished vessel holds the kinetic residue of an unceasing, invisible cuentada.
