Duo Corpus – The Lake is a two-panel work integrating uprooted vine wood into oil-painted surfaces. The organic structure, projecting up to 20 cm from the panel, becomes a dancing body suspended between tension and expansion. The titles Le Grand Jeté and Les 32 Fouettés borrow from the vocabulary of classical ballet, evoking repetition, elevation, and physical endurance. A distant resonance with Swan Lake and Tchaikovsky’s score informs the atmosphere, not as illustration but as structural rhythm. The vine wood, once rooted in the earth, is transformed into a figure caught in a vortex of matter and energy. The work explores the body as a site of gravity, resistance, and inner momentum, merging sculpture and painting into a single expressive field.
