Ébouriffé

Ébouriffé was created from the head down. It all began with an unexpected pairing: half of an echinops flower resting on a goldenrod gall. Together, they revealed a character before the body even existed.

The long, slender piece of wood I selected for the body naturally gave the figure a posture that suggests departure and curiosity—light, free, and just a little mischievous.

The subtle touches of colour that echo from head to toe create a sense of harmony—the invisible threads that bring everything into balance.

Ébouriffé is an ode to movement, to instinct, and to the beauty that emerges when nature and imagination walk together.
