Ethereal Pas de Deux | 3D Ballet

“Ethereal Pas de Deux” is an original abstract collage on canvas created by Elisabeta (16 years old), a work that captures the suspended magic of a ballet duet unfolding inside a grand, luminous ballroom. Inspired by Henri Matisse’s iconic painting Dance, Elisabeta reinterprets the idea of movement not as a circle of figures, but as an intimate dialogue between two bodies in motion—an emotional orbit of grace, tension, and harmony. The most striking element is the ballerina’s dress: a skirt constructed from cellophane delicately glued onto the canvas. This transparent, three-dimensional material transforms the painting into a sculptural experience. The cellophane catches and reflects light, creating subtle iridescent shifts that change depending on the viewer’s position. The result is an ethereal, floating effect—an illusion of fabric suspended in mid-air, echoing the fleeting nature of dance itself.
