Femmage is about recollection, about the feeling of bodies, youth, and warmth as in the re-collecting the sense of an experience. Sometimes it is not the literal image that reminds us, but a texture, scent, sound, or mood. I manipulate the boundary lines of tint and pigment to elicit the mood of pure life. The piece is allegorical Spring, and all poetry. It is about how life explodes out of hibernation, how what appears lost only laid in waiting. The painting is a labyrinth of shapes and sensations.
