This work belongs to the Gold series — paintings built on an ornament of golden spirals. The series explores geometry as a visual language through which humanity has repeatedly sought to understand the structure of the world.
The golden spiral is not an invention. It is a structure discovered again and again: in the proportions of a shell, in the human body. The structure itself has always existed.
The central figure is a woman — not a character, but a vessel. Here she appears as the Muse: not the one who is depicted, but the one through whom depiction becomes possible at all. Weightless, yet embedded within the structure as its inseparable part.
Beside her stands a column with an Ionic volute: a spiral in stone. There was an entire tradition in which geometry and harmony required no justification — they were the ground on which everything else stood.
This work turns toward that tradition. It proposes geometry as a way of thinking — and as a way of remaining oriented.
