In Japan, the sound of SUZU is presented to ward off evil spirits and purify places.

Suzu is mostly hollow, metal spheres with a long, narrow hole at the bottom into which a small ball is placed, and which are struck and shaken to produce a sound. They are believed to possess magical powers and have been used in Shinto rituals and as ornaments since ancient times.
