Part of my Treasures series, Golden Ratio explores the relationship between humanity, nature, and the worlds we create around ourselves. Humanity continuously builds treasures within its own civilizations, often distancing itself from the natural world, while each achievement reinforces the illusion of being the pinnacle of creation. Yet we remain part of nature itself, shaped by its grand architecture and fragile beauty.
In this work, two pink flamingos stand upon a monumental spiral staircase photographed in an abbey in Austria, their graceful forms echoing the flowing rhythm and symmetry of the surrounding structure.
Composed from photographic elements layered together with hand-painted details and digital brushwork using a Wacom Cintiq Pro tablet, the work is inspired by the techniques and atmosphere of traditional painting.
