This piece is about the everyday reformed in dreams and trying to capture the otherworldliness or strangeness of this world. I took regular objects giving them a sensuous and wonderland sense of proportions, interpreting the martini glasses and lifesavers to bring out a saturated quality—exaggerated lines with colors popping and invading. I gave the painting both a modern pop quality as well as evoking the timeless.
