Diptych
JOY - NOT FOUND, 2026
Watercolor, watercolor paper
24 x 18 inches each (61 x 45.7 cm each)
The diptych explores the transformation of meaning through repetition. The word JOY is reproduced until it loses its singularity and becomes a visual structure rather than a sign of emotion.
A single JOY is extracted from this field and relocated to a second sheet, where it appears within the phrase JOY NOT FOUND. The gesture creates a tension between presence and absence, abundance and loss.
Within a culture shaped by continuous production, circulation, and consumption of images and symbols, the work asks whether meaning can survive endless reproduction, or whether it ultimately withdraws into the space of what is missing.
