Life among Shadows

Growing up takes a very long time when all around you are unimaginative automatons who have no wonder or curiosity. As the shadows of people wander off into the distance, the little girl stops to watch whatever has captured her attention. I didn't show what it is because I wanted viewers to make their own interpretations, but it could be anything. She is the only one of all the images who has depth, color, features, substance, because she doesn't flow with the crowd who passes by the object at which she is gazing.
