Non-Conversation

The idea for this painting arose sometime in 2019 as a free continuation of the painting "View Out" from the free cycle "Stories in us", on which I have been working with breaks since about 2016. In the painting "View Out" I used an empty chair as an expression of presence and at the same time, the absence of a person in a given place. The location of this painting is the former psychiatric hospital in Pezinok. The objects are already in destruction, the spirit of madness, the spirit of not being able to understand each other remains. Two chairs as stand-ins for specific people in a mutual conversation without the ability to communicate. Without the possibility to sit on one of them, he can only conduct a monologue. Without the ability to move freely, they remain prisoners of a crumbling place. Just as interpersonal relationships fall apart without the ability to communicate.
