Omaggio alla Cappella San Severo

This work presents a visionary homage to the Sansevero Chapel, reimagined through a theatrical and dreamlike composition. The Veiled Christ lies in the foreground like a sacred apparition, while sculptural figures, angels and allegorical bodies rise around him in a suspended baroque scene. Behind them, the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius emerge at sunset, blending the spiritual atmosphere of the chapel with the mythic landscape of the city. The dramatic curtains, intense blues and luminous oranges create a sense of revelation, as if the viewer were witnessing a mystical stage opening onto memory, faith and Neapolitan identity. Created with mixed media and water-mixable oil colours, the painting combines expressive brushwork, vibrant chromatic contrasts and symbolic depth.
