Reflection at Sunset

The main idea underlying this work is that reflection can create a new reality in the eyes of the observer.
As described by Massimo Recalcati (see Portraits of Desire), "The world thus revisited (where internal and external merge) is no longer a mere figurative representation of sensory reality, but, on the contrary, reveals the hidden essence behind the phenomenon."
The reflection also aims to investigate the psychological and sensory experience.
"The impact of the reflection generates anguish and physical disorientation: one is projected into a distorted and ambiguous space, where the reflection subverts the geometry of internal and external, delineating a new reality."
The pictorial rendering is achieved primarily with highly diluted oil paints and irregular backgrounds. This choice is dictated by the need to transform the graphic sign into a pictorial sign and the figurative reference into a new reading of reality.
