An Italian racing-red Lancia Fulvia 1600 H.F. dominates the foreground of the Roman night. With blazing headlights and gleaming bodywork, it celebrates the bold elegance of 1970’s automotive design through a hyperrealistic style. In the background, the Colosseum is subtly suggested by minimalist illuminated outlines, just enough to anchor the scene in Rome.
A radiant full moon casts a soft light over the composition, adding a discreet touch of romance.
With my artistic background, I have always been fascinated by the design of vintage cars. I wanted to immortalize 2026 by painting this magnificent 1972 Fulvia, the very car in which I got married fifty years ago. I chose Rome for the beauty of my memories there… and simply because it is Rome.
Combining the hyperrealistic rendering of cars with a minimalist background allows me to highlight the pure aesthetics of the vehicle, while remaining a demanding exercise in balance and harmony within the composition.
