A seated nude rendered using the cuenca technique on dark red stoneware. Clay is pressed into a carved mold to form raised lines, and glaze is applied between each ridge to define the overall composition. Fired to cone 6 oxidation, the tiles show places where the glaze breaks and runs over the ridges, creating unpredictable effects.
